“The selection of the Board is one of the first steps towards building the host organization in the event we are awarded the 2022 Gay Games,” said Brent Minor, Chair of the Gay Games DC 2022 Bid Committee. “As part of the bid process we have to show that we can quickly establish the organization necessary to produce this event in a relatively short amount of time. This Board represents a diversity of talent and experience that will prove invaluable to producing a successful Gay Games in 2022.”
The Bid Committee is now in preparation for the final selection by the Federation of Gay Games of a host city for 2022 in Paris on Oct. 29.
“We are in the process of planning our final presentation to the Federation in October,” said Minor. “We are putting together a presentation that will definitively show that DC is the best city to host the 2022 Gay Games. We have the infrastructure, the venues, and the commitment of thousands of LGBT athletes in the DC metro area to produce the best Gay Games anyone has seen.”
The mission of the Gay Games DC 2022 Bid Committee is to produce Gay Games XI in 2022 as a fun, well-run, internationally focused and financially successful event that will help the Federation of Gay Games build a strong foundation for the future.
